Top Chefs on the High Seas

If you love to watch the latest cooking shows and food competitions on TV, you probably identify as a “foodie”! With such a surge in food interests, the trend in cuisine isn’t going anywhere...except out to sea! Carnival Corporation brands understand how to bring the “foodie” out in every guest...with a variety of onboard culinary experiences and excursions! Allow me to present this menu of fun to you!

Let’s first talk about famous flavors! Carnival Corporation is working with top chefs around the world to create innovative and delicious menus that add extraordinary tastes, representing various cultures to the list of cruise vacation memories.

If you’re traveling aboard Seabourn, you should look forward to the Ultra-luxury line’s partnership with renowned American Chef Thomas Keller. You may pay several hundred dollars for a meal at one of his New York or Napa Valley restaurants, but on Seabourn ships, the experience at ‘The Grill’ by Thomas Keller is no less extraordinary and included in your cruise fare.

And if you’re a burger lover, Carnival Cruise Line offers the best at sea, with the help of Food Network star and restaurateur Guy Fieri. Carnival has teamed up with Guy Fieri to bring Guy’s Burger Joint, a poolside spot for hot burgers and hand-cut fries along with several other hot experiences!

Now let me tell you about a couple of your favorite celebrity chefs from down under! Princess Cruises features award-winning Australian-born chef, restaurateur, TV host and cookbook author Curtis Stone, who created SHARE specialty restaurants on Princess Cruises ships -- available now on Ruby Princess, Emerald Princess and Sun Princess. Working with Princess Cruises, Stone was able to identify areas where he could highlight unique flavors and ingredients based on where a ship was located around the globe, developing an incredible menu as a result, with plenty of choices for guests to curate their own culinary journey.

And another leading Australian chef, Luke Mangan, showcases his cuisine at Salt grill on five P&O Cruises Australia ships. Guests get to dive into delectable dishes such as a 'Glass' Sydney crab omelet, with Enoki mushroom and herb salad and miso mustard broth!

You’ll also find Britain's top chefs well represented on P&O Cruises UK with the acclaimed godfather of British cooking, Marco Pierre White, who features dishes such as Devon-shure crab and scallop ceviche and classic beef Wellington with a wild mushroom and Madeira ducks-elle.

Last, German line AIDA Cruises has a partnership with the rock star of German TV chefs, Tim Melt-zer, who comes onboard the AIDAprima to give guests exceptional culinary experiences. Mälzer worked with the line in developing an enhanced cooking school program, with classes for both children and adults and special workshops on healthy and sustainable products.

And speaking of a culinary journey, you can be part of one! Holland America Line and FOOD & WINE are expanding their partnership to offer a collection of culinary-themed shore excursions that explore food, wine and culture around the world. Guests have the opportunity to take hands-on cooking classes, go on culinary walking tours, visit wineries, sample street food and explore local hideaways.

And finally, I wanted to share an innovative approach that Costa Cruises is taking to reduce food waste. They’ve unveiled their 4GOODFOOD program, which aims to halve food waste onboard fleetwide by 2020. Costa Cruises reviewed and remodeled its food service processes using an integrated sustainability approach while ensuring engagement of guests and crew. The program's pilot test on Costa Dia-day-ma yielded more than a 50 percent reduction in food waste in 11 months.

So this sneak peak is just an appetizer of the amazing foodie options Carnival Corporation offers! To get a taste for yourself, just visit CarnivalCorporation.com to book your cruise and enjoy 5-star dining on the high seas with a smorgasbord of choices!
