If you’re seeking a little adventure this spring break, consider trading in your flip flops for hiking boots and checking out America’s National Parks! Each of the 58 parks is truly a national treasure where you can hike, enjoy magnificent views and watch for local wildlife! Some of my favorite trips have involved visits to National Parks. So, I thought I’d share a few tips with you to prep for a spring break to remember!
#1. Plan for the Outdoors. I think it goes without saying that you’ll be outside. So plan accordingly with proper footwear, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. And make sure you carry water with you at all times!
Of course, all that time hiking outside is gonna burn energy and make your stomach rumble - and that brings me to tip number two...
#2. Bring Sensible Snacks! The best views and trails won’t have concession stands nearby, so you’ll need to bring your own munchies to keep your energy up! A couple of my favorites are trail mix and Nature Valley granola bars.
Grabbing a few boxes of Nature Valley Oats & Honey Crunchy Granola Bars, which come with 6 bars per box, makes for a tasty and convenient snack - and right now it’s also a great way to give back. This year, Nature Valley is partnering with the National Park Foundation for its Find Your Park movement. They have committed to a donation of up to 3 million dollars...this funding will support work to protect and maintain our national parks so we can continue to enjoy them! Definitely make sure to add these to your backpack as ten cents from each box will be donated between March and May!
#3. Share the View! The moment you reach the peak of a mountain or overlook a beautiful lake, you’ll instantly want to show the world!
The views in the national parks are one-of-a-kind, so be sure to share your pics on social media by tagging @NatureValley and @GoParks and use #NatureGives and #FindYourPark to see all the other amazing views too!
