Mommy Survival Guide for Fall

It’s that time of year again, where days become hectic, your schedule becomes tighter and your kids are a little busier! With the kids back in school you have school functions, homework, cooking, a family to take care of. Here's my “mommy survival guide” to keep the house running smoothly this fall:

1. Have a morning routine.

You know how it always feels like there’s not enough time in the day? Well my favorite way to gain some precious time is to wake up before everyone else in the house! Even if it’s just an hour early, that extra hour gives you time to have a quiet cup of coffee, get dressed, rearrange the to-do list and even get breakfast started before the kids are up… and the morning chaos begins.

2. Plan out your meals.

With the school year in full swing, nutritious meals can take a backseat to busy schedules, but proper diet and nutrition can help keep your kids energized and ready to tackle anything that comes their way.

So it helps to have a plan of action, know what the kids will be eating that day and have the ingredients on hand. For busy moms who want to whip up a delicious and nutritious on-the-go snack, check out these Southwestern Chorizo Tostada Bites using Eggland’s Best eggs.

This recipe is mom approved, portable and ensures your kids get the energy they need to be rock stars in and out of the classroom. Eggland’s Best eggs contain 3 times more vitamin B12 compared to ordinary eggs, which is important for turning food into energy, making sure kids get the fuel they need throughout the busy fall season.

Since eggs are so versatile, you can add a nutritional punch to so many meals. By choosing Eggland’s Best eggs, you also get 25% less saturated fat, 2 times more omega-3s, 5 times more vitamin D, and 10 times more vitamin E compared to the ordinary egg! Just look for that distinctive “EB” stamp right on the shell.

3. Make use of calendars!

The best way for me to keep my whole family in sync is to stick a calendar on the refrigerator and write down everyone’s schedule for that week. This will cut down on the chance for missing an important practice or school function and it’ll help you make sure to schedule a date night every once in awhile!
