Office Makeover

Hey Lifeys! I'm taking over the blog today because I just can't contain my excitement anymore and just have to share. The Lifestyle List home has been getting updated room by room and if you love a great before and after photo series, you'll LOVE this one!

So this is the office I work in! I mean it was cute as it was buuut needed a little something. So we decided to give it a pop of design with wallpaper. Now don't be afraid to try wallpaper. I actually have quite a bit of experience with it as my hubby and I bought a home with wall-to-wall outdated wallpaper. Now when we had to strip each wall, it was a bit tricky but that's because it was old wallpaper with old technology. Nowadays, wallpaper paste and application techniques are super simplified and are made to be taken down without damaging the walls. Because of that I went ahead and added updated wallpaper to our home in a couple areas and same goes for my office here at The Lifestyle List!

So here is the before of the wall. Just plain Jane.

Aannnnd drumroll please, for the After!

I told you it was cute! So here are the simple steps if you'd like to add a bit of design to you space!

Step 1: Using a level, draw a plum line vertically from ceiling to floor that is wider than your wallpaper.

Step 2: If you wallpaper needs paste, no problem! Just use a paint roller and roll on the paste just like paint! Feel free to put a good amount up there, it will dry.

Step 3: Precut your wallpaper ahead of time on the floor. This allows you to line up the design beforehand which makes it easier. Then starting top to bottom, stick the wallpaper on the wall!

Step 4: Press the bubbles out of the wallpaper by using your hand or cloth. And wipe up any excess paste that seeps through using a damp cloth.

Step 5: Last, cut the edges or excess with a ruler and box cutter!

And that's it! You'll have a wow-popping wall in no time!

Be sure to check out our Instagram for more behind-the-scenes photos and daily fun here at The Lifestyle List! And watch me on WeTV Saturday mornings hosting the show! Cheers!
