Hot Summer Home Trends

If your home could use a little refresh, then i’s time to let all this summer sunshine inspire your home decor! One easy way to make a huge impact in the look of a room is to switch up your flooring and the hottest trend in home decor right now is light and bright.

Light tones in everything from cabinets to curtains can really give your home a clean, cheery feel. And when it comes to flooring - lighter woods, rich textures and mixed tones will set you on the right track. Here are some of my favorite looks from Pergo® to share to help you get inspired!

I want to start with the Laminate – Pergo® Max Premier. These give you the look and feel of authentic hardwood with superior wear and scratch protection – perfect for high-activity homes summer after summer. In fact, they have a Lifetime Residential warranty and the innovative locking technology makes it easy to install. Let's take a look at this designer series…

This San Marco Oak is exactly what I meant by lightening up a room. It’s got a beautiful rich blend of white and cream with some really interesting graining and a subtle cross-sawn texture.

Now if you’re a little more on the rustic side, try the Heathered Oak planks. They are both refined and rustic. It’s a beautiful soft heather grey tone and that same subtle cross-sawn texture adds extra depth.

The Cambridge Amber Oak features wide planks with a slightly worn, aged feel. It was actually inspired by the floors found in Old English Ale Houses. I love the old-world ambiance with this laminate.

And the Smoked Chestnut is a rich smoky brown color with an embossed rustic sawn texture. It’s got a beautiful, naturally rustic look to it.

Another flooring option is to try out an engineered hardwood, and my pick for this is Pergo® Lifestyles. There are so many colors and textures to choose from as well as a range of species including oak, maple, hickory and walnut. It also has a Lifetime Residential warranty against wear. Pergo Lifestyles up to 5 times more durable than ordinary hardwood floors. The UltimateShield™ technology coats the surface so stains — even permanent marker, paint and nail polish — grime and everyday dirt clean up easily. Because they’re engineered they’re made to withstand the normal climate variations within a home so you can install no problem in most rooms - even basements!

Here’s a look at some of my favorites...

Falls River Hickory and Bleckley Oak are both gorgeous colors with that rustic appeal. I love that both of these feature a combination of plank widths to really add that character and a custom look.

Or you can select longer, wider planks to create a clean, expansive space. Creekside Oak has soft muted tones, a distinctive grain pattern and wider 7” planks create a beautifully contemporary floor.

The Midnight Maple also has a wide 7” plank with muted charcoal tones and a refined grain pattern to make a very distinguished and stylish statement.

So have some fun exploring all the different looks, textures and colors Pergo flooring has to offer. You can easily transform the look of a room and your whole home! I get style inspiration on Pergo.com and they also have a great Facebook and Pinterest page with plenty of summer style ideas.
