Fall Home Refresh | Part 2

The Fall season is on it’s way which means it’s time to do some prep work before the cooler weather rolls in. I’ve got all the items to help you get your home in order!

Summer is quickly coming to an end and that means it’s time to put your summer toys, like your classic cars and motorcycles, in storage for the winter. But, before you do, you’ll want to make sure you take some important steps to make sure they are properly protected inside and out before you put them away.

Starting on the inside, protect your fuel system by filling your gas tank 95% full of fresh fuel and then add a bottle of red STA-BIL Storage to the fuel tank. This is a great high-quality fuel stabilizer and ethanol treatment. Then run your engine for about five minutes to make sure it treats the entire fuel system. This simple step keeps your fuel fresh for up to 24 months, helps protect against ethanol damage and cleans the fuel system, so your baby will start right up come springtime.

To keep the hard surfaces of your car and motorcyle looking like new, use 303 Automotive Protectant. Use it on the dashboard, vinyl, rubber, finished leather and plastic surfaces. It protects from UV rays, dust and much more to keep your surfaces looking newer, longer.

Now that they’re prepped, it’s time to store. Just keep in mind when putting away your car or bike for the season, you’ll also want to store it in a dry area away from direct sunlight and in a space protected from the environmental elements. Your vehicles are a big investment, so follow these steps and you should be ready to hit the road when the weather warms up.

The Farmer’s Almanac predicts temperatures to be much colder than last year, so let’s talk about what we can do to prep your home for the cooler weather ahead. The key is to keep the cold air out and the warm air in, so you’ve got to make sure your windows and doors are up to par!

These are two awesome finds that will help you save energy – and money – all while making a more comfortable living space.

The first is Duck® Brand Roll-On® Window Kits. These provide an added barrier between outside temperatures and your home, serving as a practically invisible way to conserve energy and decrease home heating and cooling costs. It’s made of crystal clear shrink film with a convenient pre-taped top edge for easy roll-on application. Unlike regular window kits, there’s no measuring needed - it fits snugly to your window frame, so you get a nice airtight seal that shrinks completely clear.

Another area that needs attention is your doors. No more drafts, okay?! Get this Duck® Brand Double Draft Seal. It has a patented design that offers two layers of protection from drafts – the straps hold the seal in place while it hugs the bottom of the door from the inside and outside. The straps prevent the seal from sliding off and getting stuck in the door, so it’s great for use in high-traffic areas of your home. Even better, is that the seal is designed to work on a variety of floor types. It’s a simple and cost effective fix with huge benefits.

And there you go! With these easy changes, your home and cars will be ready to welcome the Fall season.
