Another tip for better heart health is to load up on fruits and veggies! They’re a great source of vitamins and minerals, plus they’re low in calories and high in fiber which is a great combo for a healthier heart!

One of the ways I make sure my family and I are eating lots of the good stuff is to simply keep a big ole bowl or basket of it front and center in the kitchen. If it’s in plain sight - you’ll remember to choose fruits and veggies more often. Plus my little ones love to pick their favorites at meal time.

And the third idea - control your portions. Have you ever found yourself saying, “Whew! My eyes were bigger than my stomach!”? How much you eat is just as important as what you eat. Here’s a trick to keep you from overloading your plate. Choose smaller serving dishes. We tend to subconsciously feel the need to fill our plates and bowls with food. So, a smaller plate equals less food! This can keep your waistline, and your heart, in better shape.

And those are 3 simple ways to eat your way to better heart health - without sacrificing taste!
