Hey Lifeys! Since I get asked pretty often about what makeup I use for television, I thought it would be fun to give you a sneak peek of what's in my makeup bag and a couple tips too! I mean, it's a fine balance wearing enough makeup that shows up well under studio lights as well as looks natural and I have finally found several go-to products that I wear for every shot! Maybe not everyone works in television, but anyone can look like a star in their own life- so I want all of you to feel like that too!
Tip # 1: Shine Buster!
So the catch-22 about lighting is it makes everyone look amazing, but in turn they sure do heat up the space. Oh and we're in Florida, so we have humidity going on too. To fight that combination, I use Mac Studio Fix which is a medium to full coverage matte powder...great for oily skin. So this gives a really natural appearance on camera as well as after work when I meet my hubby for din din. And I usually use my Sonia Kashuk brushes instead of the sponge it comes with just because I like how it dusts on evenly.
Tip # 2: Mix the Lips!
Since I talk a lot for my job, lips are a big deal. And I don't have naturally gorgeous, full, pouty lips, so I need all the help I can get! And believe me, I've tried a lot out there. But what I found that really works is mixing two shades of lipstick together. I put a slightly plum shade on first, then top just the centers with a shade brighter and I think it turns out really pretty. I change up the two shades pretty often but since I'm showing you what's in my bag right now, this is Lust for Blush 665 and Mesmerizing Magenta 680 by Maybelline. Super affordable too!
Tip # 3: Eyelash magic!
My other secret that makes me camera-ready are Younique Products for my eyelashes! Now for me, blinking, winking and squinting are all ways to tell an engaging story or discuss a topic on camera - in other words the eyes tell the story, which I'm sure you've heard before. And it's so true! And I've found that Younique Products work better than anything else.
I first start with Moodstruck Esteem Last Serum which helps my natural lashes grow and protects them. Then I add a layer of Moodstruck Epic Mascara which really makes them stand out! Then for an added punch and for all day shooting when I want my makeup to last, I add their newest, Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes on as a finished touch.
Gosh this was fun guys! I liked giving you a peek into my makeup bag! Let's stay in touch by following The Lifestyle List on Instagram for more behind-the-scenes pics and tid-bits of info! Always something fun going on around here! Well I better go, they're calling for me! Bye Lifeys! xoxo
