Summer Skincare

During the summer, who doesn’t wanna take advantage of the warm weather and spend more time outdoors!? It makes sense! But that outdoor fun can increase the residue that ends up on our skin - I’m talking dirt, sweat and oil. And after a few memorable weekends, you might start to notice clogged pores, breakouts and irritation. That’s why cleansing is an essential step in your daily skincare routine, especially in the summer.

When you do cleanse your skin, make sure you aren’t trying to achieve a “squeaky clean” feeling. If your skin feels tight or dry after cleansing, you may be using the wrong type of cleanser. What you really want is a hydrated and refreshed look and feel, which is easy to achieve with the right products by your sink.

To get healthy skin, follow this simple two-step cleansing method with gentle, hydrating products that won’t strip your skin of moisture or disrupt the skin barrier.

First, start with CeraVe Makeup Removing Cleanser Cloths to remove oil and makeup, like that waterproof mascara we all love in the summer but can be hard to get off!

Then, use CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for a deep cleanse. It’s a gentle non-foaming cleanser that hydrates while removing dirt, oil and other residue. Plus, it’s a dermatologist favorite because it features three essential ceramides that are essential in helping skin seal in moisture and seal out impurities. It also contains hyaluronic acid for moisture retention, leaving your skin feeling clean and hydrated!

And when you’re ready to rinse, make sure to use lukewarm water, not hot water, because that can strip the skin of moisture. Remember that tightening feeling I mentioned? That’s a sign your skin has been stripped, so look for a cleanser with hydrating ingredients. The ceramides in CeraVe products help to repair the skin’s barrier and replenish moisture. They’re also fragrance free so they are safe for even the most sensitive skin.

So follow these skincare steps and create healthy skin habits all summer long! Visit CeraVe.com to check out their entire collection and learn more information!
