Simple & Healthy Ways to Enjoy Summer

Summertime is all about simplicity. Laid back beach vacations, picnics, baseball and lemonade. And while we all love to adopt a "school's out!" attitude and enjoy the warm weather and longer days, there are a few things to keep in mind. Here are some simple ways to enjoy this summer season without compromising your health.

1. Food

While summer get together's may bring foods like burgers, chips and ice cream, you can keep things balanced by also adding fresh, simple ingredients to your diet. Fruits like watermelon, blackberries, blueberries or strawberries are rich in antioxidants and super easy to grab on the go. Or try some seasonal fresh veggies like crunchy bell pepper and cucumber – which is very hydrating – that taste great and will help you feel your best.

2. Get Active Outside

This is another way to adjust your routine for summer. Swap the treadmill for the warm breeze and sun on your skin. Remember to stay hydrated with plenty of water! The sun is especially strong between 10 am and 2 pm, so mornings or early evenings are the best times for outdoor workouts.
