Just like your doctor’s appointments, it’s really important to have your car’s overall health checked up on occasion. April is actually National Car Care Month so, in honor of that, let’s make sure our cars are in shape and ready to hit the road! Here are some of the important details.

You’ll want to check the levels of all vital fluids, including motor oil, coolant, transmission fluid and windshield wiper fluid. If they’re looking a little low - time to top-off, or change fluids, as needed. Especially when it comes to your motor oil - it does more than just lubricate moving parts. It cools engine parts and provides protection over a wide temperature range.

Another important safety check - the lights! Make sure your headlights, taillights, turn signals, parking lights and even license plate lights are all working properly. You’ll need to replace any bulbs that may have burned out and consider getting your lights cleaned to remove haze and clarify the lenses for better visibility during night driving.
